MetraFit Terms of Use
Last updated 6 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and MetraFit ("we", "us") for the MetraFit app. Installing or using MetraFit means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
1. Who may use MetraFit
You must be at least 16 years old. If you are using MetraFit on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. What MetraFit is
MetraFit is a food, exercise and weight diary. It estimates calorie and macronutrient figures from public food databases, from what you enter yourself, and — where you use photo logging — from an automated estimate of a picture you take.
It is not medical advice. MetraFit does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and nothing in it is a substitute for advice from a doctor or dietitian. Calorie, macro, and portion figures are estimates and will sometimes be wrong. Do not rely on them for any medical purpose. Talk to a qualified professional before making significant changes to how you eat, particularly if you are pregnant, under treatment for any condition, or have a history of disordered eating.
3. Your account
You can use MetraFit without an account, in which case your diary stays on your device. If you create one, keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@metrafit.app if you believe it has been compromised. You may delete your account at any time from Me → Sync across devices → Danger zone.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
- MetraFit offers auto-renewing subscriptions. The plan, price, and billing period are shown on the subscription screen before you buy, in your local currency.
- New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. If you cancel before it ends you are not charged.
- Where you buy inside the iOS or Android app, payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial. Where you buy on our website, the sale is made by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller for that transaction, handles payment, and collects and remits any sales tax or VAT due. Your payment details go to Paddle; we never see or store them.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel a store subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; manage or cancel a website subscription from Me → Manage subscription, which opens Paddle's customer portal. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Purchases can be restored on a new device with Restore purchases on the subscription screen.
- Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, not by us — we can help you find the right form, but we cannot issue a store refund ourselves. For website purchases, Paddle processes refunds as the Merchant of Record; contact us or Paddle and we will deal with the request.
- We may change prices. A change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and you will be told before a renewal at a new price.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use MetraFit to break the law, do not attempt to access another person's account or data, do not probe or overload our systems, and do not decompile or resell the app except where the law says you may despite this clause.
6. Your content
What you log is yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you — to store your diary, sync it to your devices, and show it back to you. We claim no ownership of it and make no other use of it. See the Privacy Policy for what is stored and where.
7. Third-party services
MetraFit uses Open Food Facts for food data, Supabase for accounts and sync, Paddle as Merchant of Record for website subscriptions, RevenueCat with Apple and Google for in-app subscriptions, and Anthropic's Claude API for photo estimates. Their terms govern their own services. Food data from Open Food Facts is contributed by the public and we do not warrant its accuracy.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep MetraFit working but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue a feature you are paying for, you may cancel and the store's refund policy applies.
9. Termination
You may stop using MetraFit at any time and delete your account from inside the app. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms — for anything short of serious misuse, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
10. Disclaimers and liability
MetraFit is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To that same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms overrides it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may still bring proceedings in your own country.
12. Apple App Store: additional terms
These terms apply where you obtained MetraFit from the Apple App Store, and they are the minimum terms Apple requires. Where they conflict with anything above, this section wins.
- This agreement is between you and MetraFit only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for MetraFit or its content.
- Your licence to use MetraFit is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for MetraFit.
- If MetraFit fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to MetraFit.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to MetraFit, including product liability claims, any claim that it fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- If a third party claims MetraFit infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, on your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
- Questions, complaints, and support requests go to support@metrafit.app.
